Does anyone know anywhere that could fit some springs for me around the Surrey area or London?? Ihave recently just been quoted £395 and £380. Both from Specialist Modification Garages. If anyone on here knows anyone that could do this quite a lot cheaper or could do it themselves could you let me know. Thanks

You could probably buy the tools and do it yourself watching Mighty Car Mods for a lot less than that.

The main thing is just having a spring compressor right? You can get a cheap one for like £20

It's worth paying someone to do it for you haha the fronts are a paim. It's expensive because it's fairly difficult. Or go to one of these rent a garage things and get it on a lift and do it yourself.
At minimum you need spring compressors (screwfix do them cheap), axle stands, jack, bottle jack and 32mm (iirc) socket to get the drive shaft out.

It's not a hard job but takes time and patience.
Also I pulled the driveshaft from the gearbox as it's not fixed on the passenger side .
Meant draining and refilling the gearbox oil.
But all in all only cost me 85 pounds for the springs and borrowing all my dad's tools and spring compressors.

I fitted lowering springs recently on my 2016 model myself. Its pretty simple (I'm a mechanic so I will see it simple) haha, its a 2-3 hour job if you go well. I did mine on a 2 post ramp, here is the steps I took,
-Take the car up on the ramp or Jack stands
-Take off front wheels
-Remove bottom ball joint nut (16mm spanner and deep socket I think), Hub nut (32mm), drop links which are a 17mm I believe. the simply bar down the bottom arm and pull the hub off the Drive shafts (WATCH THE DRIVE SHAFT DOESNT COME OUT!) unless you have new Gearbox oil at hand (1.2 engine owners!.... absolute arse of a job to refill gearbox with oil so watch
especially.
-then its time to remove the strut its really easy just remove the bolt on the hub that supports the srut, then remove scuttle panel and the 3 bolts holding on the top mount and the strut is
free!
just compress the spring with a spring compressor and the top mount bolt which is an 18mm bolt, and then decompress the spring, and wala! your spring is off! just fit new springs and Bobs your uncle! refit all parts in reverse order.
REAR SPRINGS are so simple an unborn child could do it haha!
-Just lift the car and leave the rear axle hang freely
-Jack up the axle just enough to get the Bottom shock bolts out (1 each side)
-release the jack and the axle should drop right down, pull the springs out and refit new ones in reverse order.
Hope this helps anyone hoping to do it themselves and don't wanna pay the Huge amount that some mechanics charge,
Any questions feel free to ask!
