  • Airtech has a new intercooler for the DS3

    http://www.airtec-cooling.co.uk/prod...t-intercooler/

I guess making it a single-pass will make it a lot more efficient over the previous design. I'm a bit concerned about the extra piping and where it would be situated though.. any thoughts?

Could this be the best "plug-n-play" FMIC for the DS3 so far?

Long piping is not so good of a thing. Put a JCW mini turbo on and run the pipe straight down to the intercooler instead of running around the world like they have and that would be a sweet setup.

I was going to message airtec earlier on Facebook about the DS3 Range! But then Facebook book timed out and blocked again at work.

Looking forward to the chat about it on here.......

New intercooler shown is the upgraded model for THP petrol only, the original one being suitable for diesel engines.

As Cyclone said....If you want to go single pass then the best way is to fit the R56 cooperS turbocharger which will make piping it up much better.
Am yet to fully test the new intercooler but if anyone is interested in one they'll be available in our online shop by the end of the week.

Would the R56 CooperS turbo be an upgrade for the DS3 Racing or are they rated at the same BHP? And is that turbo a direct fit?

I'm looking to make a 207 lw setup. This is the 2 stock intercooler setup used in a 207 group n car. Only thing to figure out is how to connect the two intercoolers. Wondering if it will make a difference
Also modified a intercooler from a diesel (not ds3) . Don't know if they are different from a thp one. Numbers say they do, looks show they don't.

Try get the inlet Temps as well thru the rev range on OEM to the aftermarket one, airtec have known problems on the 207 THP.

What kind of problems are those? I'm considering this intercooler for my Racing.

Massive hike in the Temps when get to around 4200rpm and higher, like being 20c outside and from that rpm and upwards it's hitting 45c and more.

Hot Temps = bad bad detonation = bye bye engine

Seen various dyno runs with them on the car and u get the big drop on the graph it looks like a big V but upside down if that makes sense!!
