OK I don't have the oil burner, but after having my THP remapped by Dave and the guys at Viezu not only is the power gone up but if I drive with a light right foot (Never happens, got it down to 8mpg racing another car today - and won) I have had some fantastic mpg figures back when behaving like a sensible driver. If I drive ther car the car through my usual 18 mile mixed roads commute I am getting around 40+ mpg average.

        Viezu

        Say:
Will my fuel consumption go up after an upgrade?

No, in fact quite the opposite. Even on a performance tune, if you continue to drive the car in the same way as you did before the upgrade, your fuel consumption will probably improve.

Fuel economy is better because more power = less throttle required for the same speed, basically the remap makes the engine use the fuel more efficiently.

The official figures for the 150 THP and the Racing show that the increase in power also improves the fuel consumption and also more importantly the CO2 emissions.

First figure is THP the second figure is Racing

              Urban Cycle 30.1 32.5
              Extra Urban 55.4 57.6
              Combined 42.2 44.1
              CO2 (g/km) 155 149

The 149 g/km puts the racing in a lower car tax bracket than the THP

I emailed the local Viezu agent for a price yesterday and strangely he replied that the remap wasn't available for the 90!

The situation is - not every Viezu dealer has a tri-core system therfore cannot map the hdi90 without it
For those of us who do - well we can

Fuel consumption is improved by clever adaptation of torque limiters (38 limiter maps in the ds3 90hdi )
also higher turbo boost creates more air in the combustion chamber
more fuel ( only a tiny tiny bit ) at a higher pressure means that fuel will atomise more comprhensively in the combustion chamber
therfore a more thermally efficient combustion is achieved ( blimey look at me with all the long words)

the quantity of diesel in each cyclinder on each combustion is aproximately one tenth of a drop so an increase of say 3% on fueling is TINY and would only be from about 1500rpm up

of course if you then use all the extra power and drive like a cooperkillereeeeeeee madman you will not achive better fuel efficiency
in the real world 10-15% is achievable
I have seen 25% improvements admttedly on a Volvo xc90 ( wash my mouth out with soap and water)
                            but thats outside the norm

hope that helps Happy Easter Yall

The remap is definately worth the money. As I have stated before my THP is much more fuel efficient when crusing than it was out of the box, From my perspective, regrettaby I aeem to drive it like a F1 car. Having said that I still get a good mpg return.
