Universal Backbox help

I wanted to ask your opinion-advice about a backbox for my thp ?

I've been to a local exhaust specialist shop and the manager told me that they can remove the original backbox and put a less restrictive-free flowing universal backbox, the price was reasonable, and also that the backbox will give me a few increases in bhp/torque and that it would be a good idea to do it as i am planning to have a flash remapping ecu tuning and an induction kit, it will all match up very well. My concern-question is could it cause any problems to the engine since this is a universal free flow stainless stell backbox and not from a known brand that specialises in ds3 tuning?

My backbox has been replaced for over 6k miles now with no issues.

It will probably void your warranty if you develop an engine fault and Citroen want to be arseholes about it.

Technically it should also be declared to your insurance broker too.

In answer to your question though it's extremely unlikely to cause an issue with your engine. The purpose of the back box is simply to allow air to exit the engine.

yup plus the exhaust is only under warrenty for 1 year.

Did any of you notice any gains in performance-torque with a free flow backbox? citroen's exhaust system is a bit restrictive
