  • 1.6Hdi remap questions

Firstly if these questions have been answered in previous threads, i did have a search but could not find all the answers I was looking for.

We have a 1.6hdi white. The car looks fab but i am completely underwhelmed at its performance. My previous cars was a TT and compared to that its is very underpowered. However, I knew this would be the case but over time the lack of performance has worn me down and im looking to take action. 6 months ago my GF and I sold both our cars and she chose a DS3 (she works a 5 min walk and I 4 miles away) Her step Dad works for Citroen so we paid 11k for a new DS3 which is not bad, hence it was a sensible choices

I have raed a little about flash remapping by Vizeu and wondered if anyone could answer the following for me:

    1 - Gain is 90bhp - 120bhp?
2 - Is it detectable when being serviced?
3 - I am particularly frustarted with the delay in pick up at low revs (very flat) will the remap rectify this?
4 - Is a 'group buy' being organised by anybody?
5 - Is it best to have any other wprk done at the same time? Filters etc
    6 - Cost?

Im very interested to hear answers regarding question 3.

Oh and yes im a long time lurker on the forum so HI to all and thank you in advance.

    Answers in order:
    1. Yes, a members car that has been remapped by Viezu was dyno'ed at 122bhp
    2. Viezu say no it's not detectable. Elite remapping say that as they write directly to the chip it's not detected.
    3. Not really, there's a little bit more pull at low revs but the power kicks in at about 1400 and it pulls like a train.
    4. Viezu give a 10% discount to club members and sometimes attend events. Elite agents tend to be considerably cheaper.
    5. As far as I'm aware there aren't any performance filters available that are a straight switch.
    6. £400 Viezu. £240 - £300 others.

    Welcome to the forum.

In answer to question 2 Viezu say the remap is normally undetectable, BUT any mechanic will know that the car has been tweeked, as soon as they drive the car the difference will be obvious.

I had my 1.6HDi 90 remapped by Viezu and if you want any more info contact me

Whatever Viezu or anybody says, it's detectable. If your mechanic is not an idiot, he can see that you have a different boost pressure or different consumption, etc.
But, who cares? I'm going to remap my DS3 1.6 HDI FAP, too

There aren't any performance filters available. K&N air filter is not released yet. Here's the answer from K&N (10.06.2011):

Hello, thanks for your interest in our products. The filter for the new 112hp HDi engine is in development at this moment. I can’t give you an exact date of release jet.

          Kind regards,

Thank you for the replies. John S - Did it improve the flat acceleration at low revs? Is the top end speed better? Is it a very noticeable increase in performance?

Elite remaps have agents all over the country. These will no doubt vary in quality and experience. Also, they may not all have the necessary equipment to handle tri-core ECUs. All I can say is that my local guy (Phil at Ecopower remaps, Doncaster) is good but you need to do your own checking on your own local agent. As far as I can tell performance-wise the elite remap is similar to Viezus.

I'm sure that there will be others that will develop maps for this car, if not already.

the remap has stretched the power band by about 2-300rpm at the bottom of the band and 3-400 at the top. YES there is a VERY noticeable increase in performance, no idea about top speed suffice to say that 3 digits is very easy.

                        Thanks ;-)
Do you have an experience with that? Is it really compatible with 1.6HDI FAP 112hp?

Does anyone know of a good company that does this close to Basingstoke? £400 seems quite a lot of money. What have others paid?

Oh, and thanks for all the helpful responses.
