Hdi Tuning Box - Good or Bad?

Just joined the site as I am collecting my new DS3 Hdi White Edition on Saturday :cool: !!!!

Just a quick question, may have already been posted, but are tuning boxes any good (compared to remaps)? I've seen a box on pro-bitz.com for £99 (I know not a lot) and wondered if the price says it all?

Scroll to the bottom and youo get see the figures! Claims it can take it to 109bhp! 20bhp gain!

Any advice and help would be much appreciated or a link to another similar thread!!

I think a lot of the time you get what you pay for.. I think a lot of the tuning boxes just apply generic modifications which are used on many other (different model) cars..

whereas with a good remap you'd be pretty much getting a custom modification more specific to your engine

Oh right fair enough, thanks for the insight! Would a remap void my warranty though?

It just pretty much enables car to inject more diesel to the engine... And with diesel cars, more diesel to burn+more power. Google evrymod and it pretty much answers everything.

Edit: Remap will avoid your warranty if they notice it (for engine, gearbox etc atleast) but so does tuningbox.

Yeah thought it would but surely I could just remove the box before a service etc? Thanks for your advice!
