Forge Induction Kit for DS3 THP

Forge has finally released an induction kit for the ds3 thp

I was waiting for a long time for this released I've also exchanged a few emails with the forge uk people and finally is ready. However I was expecting something more than just an open cone filter inside the engine bay. In the uk with all year low temperatures it might work but for me that I live in Cyprus and during summer time we have temperatures above 38degrees every day i think it will not work at all...Its an open type filter inside the engine bay,therefore all the heat from the engine will be getting into the airfilter and as a result i will not have any gains in bhp, i might have loss of power. I am not an expert in tuning but this is my personal view,any comments -suggestions are welcome

Saw this carbon airbox while getting a remap 379 euro, http://www.clemens-motorsport.de/d_s_3_thp.htm gets the air from a scoop under the car.

Sounds better, pulls better, etc..

Had it running 144bhp at the wheels without a turbo or remap the other week.

Would definitely recommend it!!

True, but compare that and its position to one with pipes all over the place. Think of how far that air has to travel before it hits the engine..

I am wondering how much better can it be since its just an open airfilter in the engine bay and the only gains is all the hot air from the engine going into the induction. Dyno results are a very differnt story from the real world. During testing the bonnet is always open therefore having a major difference in engine bay temperatures, also you usually have one or two very big fans blowing forced cold air all the time.

totally agree i have seen negative results due to higher temps
