Not sure if this has been discussed before but thought it would make for a good post. Do diesel "power chips" "Tuning chips" etc actually work ? are they a scam ? does anyone have any experience with them because they seem almost too good to be true ?

Not sure what you're referring to by powerchips.
Racechip and other similar reputable brands work but only with certain cars.
I'd avoid most stuff off eBay like the plague if I were you though.

Anything cheap isn't gonna work. Anything universal isn't gonna work. There's a few bigger brands out there like Superchips Bluefin that do proper boxes for the car. If in doubt, link us what you're looking at and let others debunk it for you!

Personally I'd avoid them. If you are going to push your engine for more power, I'd always go for the remap option. Refined for YOUR car.

I'm sure many use and have had great results from them! But for me, when it comes to the brain of the car, I'd rather see a surgeon than just take an over the counter fix
