Had my car in the sound engineer’s and drove away with a fab setup in a space never designed for a 2-din stereo.
USB and steering retention, and now my car has CarPlay
That's looking awesome. You must be happy with that, especially retaining the USB and stalk controls too. Top job by whoever did it.
Really impressive job they did as well. They had to cannibalise the area under the original stereo to make the mounting kit fiit - but there’s no way you can tell it’s an aftermarket setup. The thought of those type of modifications worried me, but they’re a reputable company in Newcastle so I had all faith.
The only downside is that if I am ever to sell the car, I will need to leave the new one in place, or buy a cheap one from eBay to put in as the installation process is irreversible. The only other alternative would be to replace the whole dashboard haha.
DS3 DSport 1.6 HDi - Sport Red With Perla Nera Black Roof and Mirrors
Bit of a late join to a thread but I’m after getting this done myself, who was this by and how much did they charge you? Cheeeeeers
Hey.
This was a company called Autosounds in Newcastle.
It was about 80 quid to fit it and 120 for the facia, mount and steering stalk and AV retention kit. The USB/3.5mm jacks work, the stalk works and is used to change the settings on the car’s computer.
