  • K&N Filter

So basically I was thinking of getting myself a K&N filter for my DS3. Only problem is I'm kinda uselesss with these things and am unsure of which one to get... There appear to be 3 different types when I put my car details into the site. Any chance someone could have a look and let me know which one is the right one? lol.

    Cheers

Just a question, what kind of performance gain would you get from replacing your standard air filter with a K&N one? I'm quite new to all of this also so just trying to find out as much info as I can!

Are there any other modifications when you replace standard filter for the KN performance filter?

Read somewhere else you have to add some bits to protect the Turbo, due to the increase pressure resulting from the extra airflow

Does this make sense and is it right?

Reading some of the thread above that suggests no extra performance I wonder the point of changing it?

                      No.
                      No.
                      No.
more intake sound, last filter you will have to buy, starting point for any future mods.

What are, and what do, PCV Delete caps then?

Other forums suggest these need to be ftted when fitting performance air filter?

You don't have to, think they say that because you are slightly increasing the airflow to the engine. But the PVC system is the breather for the eng crank case. The air filter is not really affecting that. I would recommend fitting the caps even without changing the air filter. To keep oil away from your valves and subsequently the cylinders. A catch can would also do here too without blocking anything off, will need 2. Remember to take them off before taking the car for service for warranty reasons.

                          All my opinion of coarse.

                            Thanks for the info

Sounds a bit of hassle so won't bother

Anyone want a 3000 mile used KN filter?
