  • DS3 1.6VTI 16V 120bhp mods?

Hi guys! i had my ds3 about 2 months now and love it! but i want to do a few mods here and there to it, but i dont know what there isn't really a lot about them as there still a relatively new car :/ so where do i start? i know about getting induction kits and performance exhaust etc, thats just standard for any car. i dont know massive amounts about cars, but can you supercharge DS3's? as i hear they have a BMW mini cooper one engine in? i know im going to rewire the day lights so they stay on with my main beams and side lights, and im going to spray the grill in the bottom of the front bumper white to go in with the white alloys and dash. sound system iv been advised against changing the head unit by citroen as i will loose all the visuals like mpg etc. i just dont know where to start as none of my friends have any and they dont know what to sugest performance wise! PLEASE HELP!

    many thanks Mat!

I'd suggest new iridium spark plugs from NGK. Very cheap (well for car stuff anyway), and will give better throttle response with perhaps a slightly faster 0-100km/h time. As silly as it sounds, I've seen that the 1.6 120VTI tunes very well for a N/A engine. So that might be worth considering a few months down the track after you get other mods for the car. Also instead of supercharging I would consider turbocharging, as the MINI engine that is in it is from the latest Cooper's (R56/7 series I think). That's my 2 cents anyway, as it seems you have an idea of what to do.
    Rhys.

Irridium plugs have a very small electrode, giving less of a surface area to foul up, so stay cleaner for longer, also the irridium is very hard, so they last much longer.
There are no performance gains for any plugs, just some last longer than others.

hi guys cheers for the advice! the grill i havent sprayed yet but done my callipers in white on the front waiting to do the back callipers next! iv just installed an induction kit was a bit tricky as it is a hard engine to work with! my friend recommends getting a new rocker cover? like in the ds3R to free up space and make it easier to mod. any suggestions on where to look for this? as the only results i get back have nothing to do with what it!
              Many Thanks!
