Mods that will not effect the warranty

I will be leasing a DS3 to start with and so will have to be careful when making any mods. I was wondering if anyone knew from experience what mods can be done such as decals/exhausts/mud flaps/filters without effecting the warranty. Or is there a case that if some of the above are done by a dealer this is deemed ok but not if done privately?

I thought this would be a good thread to start to get this information and would help others looking to make some small changes but don't want to impact on the warranty.

Best check the booklet that comes with your manual.

Anything that isn't pre-approved or Citroen provided will invalidate your warranty. If in doubt, pop CUK an email.

For example the engine remap won't valid your warranty for sure - don't worry.

My dealer told me that anything being officially labeled with an "E"- or "CE"-label is good to go (Warrant wise) then u need to see if u can get it through inspection :P

Read over the lease T's & C's again yesterday and looks like all mods excluding stickers/decals must be cleared by the leasing company first. Any stickers/decals must be removed before the car is returned and any damage/residue removed fully.

Not sure I'll bother. I might buy the car from the lease firm once the term is up if its been good to me and make some changes then..

The short of it is that any changes you make to the car, apart from service items of some quality, will null your warranty. The only 'mods' you can fit are ones supplied through a Citroen dealer, such as the sports grill.

Your lease company won't stand for you making any mods as this will put you in breach of the agreement, my advice is leave well alone unless you get WRITTEN permission to make certain changes. Been around long enough to see folks become unstuck at the wrath of a finance company!

There are some subtle changes to warranty across Europe to account for changes in climate and conditions but I wouldn't have thought Raain warranty would anything different to what we have here - both would be signed off by Citroen Paris.

Yeah, I've made a call specially for this matter as I wanted to change my exhaust but obviously not void my warranty. That was what he told me.
As long as it's labeled "CE" and it has the right papers to go with it, ur good ! (atleast for your warranty :P, inspection might be something else)
