Yes, just research before choosing an oil catch can, and make sure the chosen oil catch can has the correct sized inlet/outlet hose barbs, furthermore try to avoid lengthy hose lines between the PCV breather and the chosen oil catch can, the longer the hoses the cooler the crankcase pressure vapour becomes, inducing more condensing condensation sweating in the oil catch can.

Again some realy great info Czar!!
Can you maybe advice on an catch tank which works the best for our THP engines?

I'm realy searching for an solution to avoid the oil carbonising around the intake valves!
After fitting the Catch tank I think it's also good to do a clean for the inside of the engine to clean the already carbonised oil?!

Thank you, although I like to promote the UK Automotive and Motorsport industry and products, sadly some aftermarket products offered by aftermarket "performance" specialists here in the UK, fall well below what is expected from a leading Automotive/Motorsport pioneering country, in the form of profit over product function and quality, and so based on this I can only really recommend one oil catch can, that not only offers actual function of oil particle separation, it is also a very simple design with the ability to enable full serviceability, the removal of all components for thorough cleaning, and the oil catch can in question is: http://www.42draftdesigns.com/catego...catchcans.html

            Many thanks!
Looks like a great product and much less expensive then let's say the "Forge" one!

When I look to this OCC
Think you need to fit the PCV pipe to the upper part of the OCC
And from the lower part of the OCC back to the inlet of the engine?

So the oil is then drained out and only the gasses are being sucked to the engine?!

Installation of the OCC (oil catch can) is the lower hose barb on the OCC is the inlet (feed from camshaft cover) and as we all should know hot air/gas rises, and so the outlet is the upper (top) hose barb outlet on the OCC, this outlet is the return to the inlet manifold, or if you do have the PCV blanking caps fitted, the OCC installation is the PCV side (front) outlet feeds into the lower hose barb on the OCC, and the upper (top) hose barb fom the OCC is the return to the air intake pre turbo.

Sticking in a catch can in the PCV hose itself will be an absolute nightmare, trust me on that. If you have a look see on the forge site you'll see an installation guide for their catchcan- just follow the plan from that but obviously you won;t be using their platinum plated can. You;ve got an induction kit on haven't you? If you have then there's room up back to fit a can or room behind the left headlight (think it'll be left). If you look for Cyclone's build thread you should see where he has his positioned which should be fine for you

Hi CZAR- would these things have a decent effect? Or is it just toilet roll and cereal box stuff?

                    Hi Chris,

I know from the French forum that the BMC CDA airbox gave less power and torque then the standard airbox with an replacement airfilter.
The Forge Induction kit gave the most measured power till now compared to an standard airbox.
Als the Forge kit will give you some nice figures after about 5500rpm

                      Claims on increase power

Hi Fabian- I have emailed the supplier of the unit to ask what they claim the increase in power is if any
I like the cyclone theory of it, getting more air intake
Any news on Milltek Cat yet?

                        Hi,

No, no news yet. Still somewhere around Christmas they say!
I've found an site where they're selling Milltek cats for the DS3
                        http://www.freakyperformance.com/en/...-16-thp-p5832/

But after asking questions, I've found out it's the Downpipe for the Peugeot 207

ds3r is getting a Sports Cat fitted to his system next Thursday- be interesting to see how that goes
Believe Milltek is pushing the "date available" time back, on their Cat

I have mentioned this previously, the downpipe from the Peugeot or BMW MINI will physically fit, the catalyst is different between Peugeout, Citroen and BMW MINI, and unless these so called "tuning specialists" realise this, then your asking for trouble, Milltek and other such global leaders get it right for each specific vehicle, regardless of vehicle manufacturer, hence sometimes the lengthy wait and the price, you have to remember and acknowledge that R&D is not cheap, that said it does at the end of the day, provide you the end product user, with a downpipe that contains the correct catalyst to suit your specific vehicle and fuelling maps.

Yes after your earlier post I knew this wasn't the correct Downpipe, just because it's not there yet.
So that's also why I asked this "tuning Company" how that was possible....

Good man, they simply won't understand what's what, they use blind ignorance to sell/push products, as a lot of reseller companies do, they just assume, and we all know when you assume, it makes an ASS out of "U" and ME.
