What are the benefits of the hard pipe kit over standard? I've seen a few people mention it but I'm not hugely technical.

I would probably go for a sports cat rather than a de-cat though, the most free flowing that would pass an MOT. Jamie isn't that far from me so I will definitely keep him in mind.

What's your next step to your crazy power plan? Inter-cooler?
    Intercooler's the next big one.

Advantages of the hard pipe kit? They look nicer and aren't made out of plastic

Very true, they do look much nicer .

Are there no flow gains then?

Forge one is slightly out of budget for what it is.

With regards to gains, it's not something I measured before or after so I wouldn't know I'm afraid. There might be some documentation on the Forge site though.

Yeah the Forge one is pretty pricey, that's why I was asking, see if you thought it was worth it. I imagine if you could find a decent place that a custom one that would be the best option.

No real documentation for the pipes just: "These have been designed to maximise flow and reduce the resistance of the original OEM fitment."

Think when you place the new / better intercooler and an better cat-back exhaust (63mm all the way) you see 215hp without the NOS!
This is also about the max you'll get from the standard Turbo.
Next step will be the DS3R Turbo? Then you'll see figures like 250hp without the NOS

DS3R, RCZ or JCW turbo's are all up there in the future mod's list, don't worry

You could wait until the RCZ R (260BHP) is out and use the turbo from that?

Haha, problem being there is that I'll have to wait for someone to crash one before I can pinch their turbo xD

Yeah that's true, I'm sure it wouldn't be long though. Depends how far in the future you're planning, lol.

One thing at a time for me- so Sports Cat 200cell per sq inch hopefully next- dont know where from yet?
That would make the exhaust 63mm all way thru for me (Visa ve Fabian)

Then- the intercooler- Bit like Fish I like the look of Forge but its pricey- see who can offer me a good price on supply and fit the forge
It looks the best though- bit tougher with the odd stray stone etc
May have to put that steel sports grill on- dont like the look of it much but would protect

Maybe 2 or 3 of us getting an intercooler would be cheaper?- thats prob new year for me- not sure yet

Then Induction kit (Possibly before intercooler) but Panel filter OK for now- recharge it every 3000miles or so

Will have a few thinks at 215BP i reckon- test it on a track day somewhere too

Iridium plugs- still not convinced. But have got them. (No Czar- no further info needed thanks)

Then we could all meet for a DYNO day

Sounds like you've got a good list. I'm working on my list but definitely won't be until at least July next year before I do anything.

I find it very interesting seeing the power upgrade possibilities of the DS3 that people have done.

Decided on this course of action when they wanted £10k plus mine for a new DS3R
                          Or £6k plus mine for a 2000 mile DS3R

Preferred my colour SPORT RED and saw the advice on here
Cars been geat up till now too
So- given myself a budget of £3.5k for upgrade to exisiting
May even slam it in 12 month- but worried the exhaust may get whacked now and again (Or even ALL the time)

Sounds like you have a good plan. I'd love to lower mine a bit (it would look great) but far too many speed bumps down my road for that.

Exactly my hesitation on doing this also, 25km into work each day and a shit load of speed bumps leading into the city centre. The rim's I got off Zack though certainly fill out the arches. I've had a couple people ask me now if it's been lowered.
