Remapping my DS3 D-style - some help needed installing box

Hi all,

Looking for some help if possible - I've searched through a few pages on the forum and couldn't find what I specifically am after - apologies if its here and I've missed it

So on eBay I bought a Powerbox 2 from Tuningstile - it came with instructions but its not exactly perfect english - "Disconnect the pressure sensor connector (the 3-wire), insert the wiring in series"
"Models Citroen 1.6 must remove the air filter and look for the hand rail sensor connector located under the engine on the right side, using a mirror, is close to a 2-wire connector"

It comes complete with some blurry black and white images of a hand doing something for an engine...

As someone who doesn't know much about engine layout, is there a step by step guide, or pictures, or someone who can clarify what I need to do in simple English?! Its a 12 plate 90BHP manual.

Any help appreciated.

Personally I wouldn't go near it. eBay so must be cheap otherwise you would have got a direct remap or purchased a box from a UK dealer where the instructions would have been clear and given you back up advice.

How will you gauge if it actually works without paying for a rolling road run ( which would have been included with a direct remap)

I'm guessing the box was about £75 from abroad. My advice re sell it or chuck it in the bin. Only my opinion though.

Hi, thanks for the reply. My DS3 is on a lease scheme so I get a new DS3 every year, so I needed something which I can plug in and out. Over the past 2 weeks I've measured my 0-60 and 40-80 times 10 times so I will know any performance differences. Also, whenever I fill up my car I always reset the timer so I know how many miles I get from a full tank. So if it gives me improved MPG I'll know too.

So you really think it's not worth using at all? Honest feedback appreciated.

I wouldn't risk it, it'll probably just give you problems at that price.
if this box logs any faults the dealer will be able to see this in the fault history with Lexia and they will know it was caused by fitting a tuning box
Just get it remapped properly

If you're not concerened about being in the dealership all the time because of engine faults within that year then go for it, drop an email to the seller and ask for some better instructions/pictures.

Otherwise, better to be on the safe side and stick with the power/mpg you have for the year.

Leave well alone then, if you mod the car you are in breach of the terms and conditions set out by the lease company. If something major goes wrong the warranty will laugh in your face and you will be liable for the repairs or possible sued by the leasing agent.

Sorry to be short but in my job a lot of people forget about the legal aspect when their vehicles are under some finance agreement.
