DS3 Intercooler

For the DS3 theres the FORGE (Very pricey one) dual bypass
Am aware Fabian has a Universal one fitted (Which one? and was it difficult to fit and efficient?)

Think some people have had bespoke ones made and fitted? How much and do they work effectively
Just wanted a thread to post things all INTERCOOLER related after using search button and a myriad of stuff comes up

My next modification probably and want to understand all options- have been talking to Jamie at SPT about it
Please post anything you think is useful- Type, size, maker, how to fit (Not much room under a DS3 Hood)

Hi Chris,

Yes, I've bought an universal Intercooler from Forge.
It's an Single pass, because I didn't want to buy the dualpass.
At this moment the Intercooler is a bit too large for the setup, but for my future plans (Mini JCW Turbo) it's better!

With the Mini JCW turbo, the exit side from the Turbo directly goes to the Right side of the intercooler.
With that, I don't need the extra pipe on top of the engine (like the forge Hard pipe kit)

If you want an P&P kit, there are only two options at this moment!

Do you have to remove the front engine crash bar for these intercoolers to be fitted ? I know with the forge one for the ds3 the crash bar doesn't need to be removed

hi no the bar is not touched

No, even with my Intercooler the front Crashbar is still there!
Only welded two brackets on it to fix the Intercooler on the top side

Doubt I'll modify that far- but how much the Cooper S turbo then?
Love to hear of Gregs intercooler, and how it fits- he had it made bespoke?

No, not Cooper S turbo, but JCW turbo.
With Cooper S turbo you'll finish with 230hp max!
With the JCW you'll have the same turbo as the DS3R, so maximum around 255 / 260hp.
250 is my goal, so that's why I'm going to look for the JCW turbo

If your intercooler works, and the price beats a FORGE then would have on mine pronto
Then a bit of lowering/dampener treatment, and my mod days could be over
Then just drive like hell!
