  • HID and CANbus doubt

So, I've put HID lights on the headlights and fog lights, no problem on them, they stay on and are not flashing like I saw with other people on other threads.

But within the diagnostics sometimes appear a message saying the the fog lights are faulty, this message is not permanent, sometimes it warns and sometimes doesn't.

My doubt is, do I have to change the HID or may I just ignore this message?
Will this issue affect other car's system, like sound or anything?

Canbus or multiplex wiring uses two bus wires can hi and can lo
The operation of anything safety or vehicle critical go down can hi any system that's classed as a
ancillary goes down can lo, the buses do have a certain amount of interaction
for example the dash (speedo can lo)would need to see the vehicle speed (sensors gearbox etc can hi) this would be picked up by in a PSA group car at the BSI.

If any faults do happen it should only be on the can lo circuit

Hey, Just found this thread, I've been thinking about fitting HID's for a while now but still haven't taken the plunge. I know they're technically not legal but as long as i'm not blinding others they'll be fine. Couldn't help me out and say what kit your using , H7 or H7R for example. And whats the light on the road like, I've seen some pretty dodgy patterns on the road from some friends who have them. (Plus why did Citroen cheap out on crappy fog lights to be 'eco' did you use a H16 in them? Plus any pictures would be greatly appreciated.) Cheers in advance as I'm asking enough!

Do not have them but I do know that the H7 kit would be for projector headlights and the H7R bulb is anti glare for normal headlights like ours.

Thats right, H7R is for reflectors that is our case (sorry for wrong spelling, english is not my first language). On the fog lights I had a problem, I have bought the H16 HID but it would not fit exactly and as the HID bulb gets too hot it could melt down the acrylic of the lantern.

So i had to change the lantern to fit the H11 bulbs, and it is working fine now, I will take some pictures and post here later.
