  • Max torque for 6-speed MC gearbox

    Hi!

Does anybody of you guys know what is the nominal maximun Torque (on crank) that 6-speed manual MC gearbox (mounted in past-lift 207, RCZ, DS3 and 208) can handle? I know that earlier BE 5-speed gearboxex were very durable, but I'm not sure about those new 6-speed ones.

It's around 340nm for daily use. Above that you can buy the Sachs Clutch.
This one can handle 30% more, so about 440nm

Other parts of the gearbox are strong enough

I meant gearbox - not the clutch. Stock clutch can't stand anything above 310 Nm for longer period of time -this is based on my own experience. Mine stood for 5 moths after remap. Now I have +50% Nm custom clutch. But still I'm wonder about the gearbox - how durable is it. It's quite hard to find any info about those MC gearboxes,.

As said, standard Clutch up to 340nm and the uprated one 30% more!
My DS3 has 315nm and already 3 years without a problem. Just the way you treat the box!
You don't have to worry about the box itself. The box can withstand about 500nm.

There's a guy in France who's allready driving for a year with 295hp and 420nm of torque with only the Sachs Clutch
