Alloy foot rest looks good - is that an official part?

As a matter of interest how do you get power to your Brodit passive mount?

Yeah it is, I have one as well, Aidan or Ross should be able to get you a quote for one....

There are some on ebay but I didn't pay as much as these for mine - http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_tr...at=0&_from=R40

Cheers for that, Ross sorted out a quote of £29 posted.

Is it easy enough to position / fit? Just self tappers I believe?

Yeah really easy, the foot rest screws into a molded piece of the carpet trim, you can easily screw them in by hand...

Right, so they do not penetrate the carpet and screw into the metal underneath? In that case is there no problem with it coming adrift or working loose? Mind you I guess that method of fixing does allow one to get the positioning absolutely perfect?

There's a block of foam between the carpet and the metal. You're basically screwing into that. It's dead easy, me and Dangerousfish did mine at a meet in about 5 mins.

They go through the carpet and into some polystyrene type of molding, on mine at least they did not reach the metal of the bodywork !

If you're worried about movement than use a piece of double sided carpet tape underneath to help secure.

I just used duct tape folded over.

Hmm from reading those threads suggested by WTF I'm now not sure if has been designed for a RHD car and will fit well at all. Starting to feel that this may not be the way to go!

It is the same piece for left and right hand drive and it attaches in the same way screws into the carpet and whatever it is underneath not into the metal.
As can see from BeefMasta's pic it fits r/h or l/h drive just fine. I have a left hand drive car and have this also.

I'm on the left too, like cyclone.

But mine was prefitted by the dealer for me...
