Thats a bit pricey, but did they give you a quote on how much the vinyl is? Roof and wing mirrors is a easy £200, but your choice of vinyl may be more expensive the meter.
and also, depends how fresh the paint is on the car wether it will peel the paint off or not when removing, i work in a vinyl wrapping company and we strip cars week in week out, sometimes the pain or lacca can come off with the vinyl. Majority of the time, it will be fine. But make sure you find out how recent your car was sprayed, because a lot of the time, car companies will respray the cars without even telling you, the amount of bad resprays we have seen is a joke!
But if the paint is settled and been on there a while, you should have no problem, just always apply heat, this way it wont leave glue on the paint work to
Cheers Rickards, ideal to get it from the horses mouth It'll be going on a new motor so might be best leaving it a bit before i do it from the sounds of things?
I'm toying with the idea of doing the rampant orange highlights like whats on the racing, think it'll look pretty trick against the black (front grill and wing mirrors i'm thinking, side bits down the doors aswell although i'm not sure if that'll be too much)
My DS3 is an 11 plate and bought it from a citroen garage in August, so I doubt they've resprayed the roof since it was made, so the wrapping shouldn't so any damage hopefully!
I've spoken to a man who works for Poppy Signs this evening and I actually get a discount due to my dad using the company a sometimes through work! Which is definitely a bonus! I'm going for a glossy wrap to look like paint
[FONT=Arial Black]Hi Guys! So I've enquired about having my car vinyl wrapped by Poppy Signs in Chorley, and the quote to have my roof and wing mirrors wrapped in glossy lilac/lavender is £268.
No chance That's expensive ! Have a check to see what spec viynl they're using. Had mine done in 3M 1080 Scotchprint (Expensive stuff) for less than that ! Under £200 you should be looking at, shop around.
Thing is, if they are sign maker, in my opinion, they will probably be rather maticulous at their work so it may not be the cheapest, but you may get the quality.
Unfortunately this isn't always the case. I've heard and seen of 'Signwriting companies using sign viynl on cars to wrap them ! As it's thinner and not automotive grade it doesn't last. The reason they do it is because it's a lot cheaper than auto viynl
