Front Spax Coilover SNAPPED!

yes oh dear indeed

I am now looking for just springs all round as I just cant afford a new set of coilovers.

Bought from coil overs from ebay sent back to spax for repair and they were proto types apparently and cannot be repaired so would have to buy 2 new fronts with springs

Out of the kindness of there hearts they have offered me a whole 15% off

luckily it didn't happen when I was driving, only parking up.

So what are the lowest spring available for the 110bhp diesel that people know about?

Not nice Toby. Didnt know SPAX were prototypes- they been out 3 year i think
Interesting to see the photo of where it snapped- good job you werent travelling at speed
Wouldnt accept that from the suppliers as a reply
German products are usually pretty good.

Lowest springs are 40mm i think

Ouch, glad you're ok but the official response seems v poor, was that response from the ebay seller or Spax ?

I bought them from a guy that bought them from a guy that must have had a mate at spax

They said they should never have made it out to the public

Theyre grim. The metal is obvs not strong enough (For whatever reason- quality, density etc etc) and has given way
You didnt get them off ebay bout 4-5 month ago did you- as almost bought a set second hand myself

Still think you should consider your legal options- TBH it could have killed you!

This is why I sent my original Spax set back - poor quality.

I love my Bilsteins, my only gripe is I wish they went lower :/

Jeeeees. I almost bought them, but took Jamies advice about SPAX.
Why would you want another SPAX product, when youve just had a near miss- would not go for anything SPAX if it were me

Saying that- not seen springs lower than 40mm, so if its what you want...............

I don't think they would fit mine

I have ordered some v maxx springs 45mm front 40mm back

As long as she sits pretty low I don't care what make they are.

Hear what you say about being low- just gotta decide how to get there
Post up how your springs go- theres been debate on here before about the quality of certain makers springs

not resolved just bought some new springs
abit out of pocket

£250ish for the coil overs I think
£100 to fit
£50 to swap over the broken shock
£20 to send to spax and get a big f you back
£110 for new springs
£100 to fit

oh the joy lol
