Starting my car

Hi can anyone help just bought my 13 reg ds3 and was told I had to have my feet on clutch and brake to start car now it starts like a normal car no need to touch the pedals is this ok or is it a fault ???

What engine do you have?

Might be an eco start system

I know what you mean, a lot of newer cars have that system but the DS3 hasn't got it. I don't have to put my foot on either the clutch or brake to start it and it's brand new.

I always start with my feet on the clutch and brake. That's just the best/safest way to start. How else? :-)
