  • Citroen Service Package

When I got my car a couple of months ago I was also given a 3 year service package as part of the deal from my dealership.

And I just wondered if anyone happened to know what I can expect to get from this, as it wasn't really explained to me very well by the garage?

As it's a diesel I believe that my first service is due at the 12,500 mile mark or one year, but I just wondered if anyone could tell me when subsequent ones are due and what I can expect from each of these please?

    Thanks

Hi Laura. I got the same service package and the only thing I was told was I'd need a service at 20,000 or 2 years!

However, I got a letter in the post last week for my first year service! So tomorrow I'll have my first service haha. Mines a petrol vti 120.

The servicing requirements are specified in your Maintenance & Warranty Guide. Not all that easy to follow, but pages 10 & 11 (unless the book's been changed since I bought my car in 2010!) list what's required. For petrol engines there's an "Annual service" which is just a check of various items on the car & a "Routine service" at two year intervals which includes an oil & brake fluid change. Diesels are different - my book specifies a servicing interval (i.e. Routine service) of 12,500 miles or 2 years, whichever comes first, although it may have changed since 2010. In addition, they specify mileages at which other items such as the air filter should be changed.

It's all much more complicated than it needs to be - what we need is some kind person to write a definitive guide!

        Laura,

If your car was new then the service interval for your motor will be 1 year or 12,500 miles, whichever to you get to first. The service plan only covers the cost of the service and not any extra consumables that you may need such as wiper blades.

Once you have had the service then the clock is reset and you go for another years or another 12,500 miles until the next one.

When you are in at your dealer asked them to print off your service summary sheet which will advise you of what gets done at what points. Or if you like PM me your VIN and I'll email one over to you.

Bought the car new in March and was only told verbally that servicing was free for 3yrs or 36000. I've got nothing in writing about it. Does anyone know if it's Citroen UK who are meant to send out this information?

            Yes.

Give it some time but you should get a Card stating you have the plan, if not any dealer can check for you.

I never got a card but it's never been a problem when I get my service done. I just tell them I have a service plan and it's all good.

Took 14 weeks for my card to arrive, but the dealer gave me a screen print of the service plan when buying the vehicle- or shortly after actually (Went back in to ask)

I never had a card either but just had my first service yesterday. Garage said £199 unless I have service plan, I said I did and that was it. All sorted no problems.
To be fair, I love my local Citroen dealer. They are very very good.

Just received my card for my service plan. Not bad considering my car was a year old in May,and has already had it's
first service. On a serious note, just check with your dealer that tour car is on Citroen's service plan register.

                      Regards Tbart

Thanks very much for the replies everyone, appreciate it.

I haven't yet received a service card, although only picked the car up towards the end of March, so it sounds like it might be a bit hopeful for me to hope to have received it by now!

I do have the paperwork that was written and printed out when I agreed and shook on the car with the sales guy, so keeping that in a safe place for now!

Bigfeet, my car is new, so those time and mileage intervals do apply, thanks for confirming.

When I got my car (diesel) on Saturday I was told the service intervals have changed to 16000 miles rather than 12500. Really hope that's true as got a decent chance of being able to use the full 3 years servicing by that increase being in place.

Yes that's correct the new interval is 16,000.
