There are numerous terraclean services. I'll ask one of the reps to describe the GDI service they do for direct injection engines for cleaning the inlet ports to see what it actually contains
That is one of there products, another is a spray that was used by BMW to try and clean the back of the inlet valves by spraying into the inlet tract. Just like Citroens chemical cleaning that does not work well either. BMW has moved on to walnut blasting.

as far as I can Tell the Direct Injection Cleaning offered by Terraclean uses the a chemical cleaner that is put into a pressurised container and forced into the inlet manifold whilst running for approx 20 minutes or so.

Nice one Toxic. Good info. Wonder whether its worth using it when there are no symptoms of carbonisation?
IE No knock, judder, rattle etc, just as preventative

Well since GDI engines all suffer from this I would guess it won't hurt doing this as part of a scheduled maintenance. I would guess every 15-30k would be sufficient.

That is probably the best time to use a chemical cleaner like terraclean. As a preventive to remove any light carbon deposits before before they become so built up that you start seeing symptoms and the carbon needs a mechanical clean to remove it.

Without a camera, cant find out how the back of the inlet valves are.
PCV routing was changed a little from the 150 to 155, so maybe they dont get that bad
May give that Terraclean a go on 20k, depending on price

yep my thinking exactly. Price for the direct injection cleaning from two local reps here are both £80. For full terraclean (injectors, combustion chamber, oxygen sensor, cat,2nd senor back is £120.

The reps in NI either visit your home or you meet up with them at their premises or elsewhere. I would say it takes about 30 mins for the direct injection clean and approx 1 hour for the full Terraclean from start to finish. Make sure you engine is up to full running temp.

Is the "BellAdd" the stuff Citroen mechanics use to clean the inlet valves?
If it is, not sure it has long term benefits

Maybe Jamie would invest in one of these:
