No unfortunately its not under warrenty its a 60 plate!!!!. Was going to take out a private warrenty but read that many bad comments about them... Everyting just packed in whilst driving on motorway... Abs fault, esp fault, powersteering fault, airbag and also loss of speedo ,mileage etc. All wieing and fuses have been checked by citroen specialist and then told it must be ecu....!

Failing that, if it's only the ECU that's failed and not a fault with the loom it might be worthwhile looking through a through scrappers and seeing if you can find an identical model to swap with.cyclone> Fish is the man

I'd recommend calling Citroen for advice before paying for it. Surely with such low millage and only 4 years old it should be repaired as faulty goods, regardless of being out of warranty because it's such a major part and should suffer "wear and tear"?

Its the abs ecu.... They did a recall on the unit from june 2011 , mine is sept 2010 . Wondering if i would have a case with citroen uk?. I decided i had better have a diagnostic thru main dealer EVAN HALLSHAW ROTHERHAM!!!! Useless is all i can say, the report SUSPECTS this may be the problem but for £100 cost i want a diagnosis not a suspected one!!! And got back to the car and non of the covers they took off were replaced so i had to get them to put the car back on the ramp to replace esp cover!!!!! As stated before the cost of replacement will be £800

When you take a diagnosis on a car it WONT tell you exactly what the problem is, thats a big mistake that people always thinks that it tell you exactly whats wrong, it will just say the errors it found and that can often be connected with many thing..
As i work at a dealership i recommend you go to the nearest Citroen dealership and have a talk with them, they will contact citroen in the uk, and most probadly they will have a new unit for you under extended warranty, especially when it is a ECU. That something that should last as long as the car.Skilled Citroen Mechanic
Have diagnostic Lexia/Diagbox Tool

My reverse sensor was playing up last week, hey took a look at it and could not replicate the fault though it was there for a full week previous to leaving it in.
Drove it out of the dealership, within 5 miles Reserve sensor was faulty, drove it back to the delearship, where i flagged the Service rep down and said Oi! look, its the reverse sensor faulty again, you dont need a computer to
see this! DOH!
they have now booked it in to replace the sensor.Last edited by Toxic; 25-07-2014, 15:31.
