  • thp 150 anti pollution warning solution?

I bought a 10 plate ds3 thp 150 about 2 months ago (it's actually for my wife) and it ran alright until couple weeks ago when the anti pollution warning came up and lost power. Had to call RAC and got back home in the back of a tow truck and was not fun at all! The garage we bought from said they couldnt find any problem and the car was running fine again (although sometimes rough idling still) until today when the warning came up again! Stopped the car for a few minutes, restarted and ran alright again but I know it is going to happen again and could go into safe mode next time.

So after some research on internet and this website, Im thinking of fixing this issue myself and Im asking for help here. Should I fit oil catch can or just simply delete the pcv pipe? If anyone has done either or both, would really appreciate some advice.

    Many thanks.

Neither will cure your current problems, these are just preventative measures to help against these kinds if issues. there could be a million and one things that cause your issues but I would guess you have either excessive carbonisation of your intake valves OR cam-crank synchronisation issues(timing chain slipped/stretched).
There should have been error codes logged in the ecu if you got limp mode. Do you know what these are?

Last time the rac man came, he said the fault code was cylinder 1 and 4 misfire, he tried changing the spark plugs but no joy, so he cleared the fault code and thats how we ended up with the tow truck. Im away from home today and tmr but according to my wife the engine light is now permanently on...

Is the garage a Citroen dealership?

If not my first step would be to make sure that your car has had this software update and the timing check referred to above

also an old post of mine

The fault was diagnosed as "incorrect cam angle". The special tools are the clamp as above, and a digital angle measuring device.

The inlet cam was 4.3 degrees out

This has been corrected in accordance with info rapid BIEW010JQ0 (if I read the technician's handwriting correctly) and involved just two replacement parts, one of which I believe is a revised tensioner. To complete the process they installed an ECU update.
