  • First year service

    Hi all,

I lease my DS3 DSport+ 1.6petrol on a two year contract with Citroen and I'm just coming up to my first year service. I've rang my local Citroen dealership and they want £276 for the service, despite their site saying its £195.

Can anyone advise if £276 is about right for a first year service, or any suggestions on other Citroen Approved garages in the Manchester area?

    Any help would be appreciated

I thought all DS3 of that age came with the 3yr/36000mile service plan!
Mine is a 2013,13 plate and it came with this.

The Citroen approved one here in Kendal did my 3year service about 27/08/14 and cost: £243.

Why aren't they charging the £195 as priced on their website?

They're claiming that the £195 service doesn't cover the warranty?

I was quoted £190 by Evans Halshaw in Stockport for my first service in June 2013 so £276 seems a bit steep to me.

Best off asking around at other local dealers and seeing what they can offer.

Seems a bit off to me - as far as I'm aware the only requirement to maintain warranty is genuine citroen parts - which is stated as being used on their fixed price offer.

Did you buy your car from new? If so, the point I was trying to make is that I thought all cars DS3's,at that time,
came withe the service package free of charge.
              Maybe Bigfeet could confirm this.

DS3's only come with Service Plan on the retail side of things and not Contract Hire and then normally only with the Elect3 finance package.

Anyway in regards to the service I wold suggest you ask them to break the numbers down for you to see what is being covered, normally the price given is the maximum you could pay. After checking the car over you might find that some items wouldn't be required so do check with the dealer. Otherwise if there is another dealer near by then why not get a price and see if your dealer will match.

I lease my DS3 also, I took mine in for its first lease last week and my local dealer charged me just over £200 for the pleasure.

I had emailed Citroen to see if that price was correct to be told they don't regulate dealerships prices and if I wanted I should shop around. I decided I didn't have time etc and went for it. They were good though and did it really quickly to on a Saturday morning.

£276 does seem a little high

I had a service plan set up with my local dealer, £417 for 3 years, to cut a long story short I cancelled it as the price included a £60 admin fee....... For what? Posting me a plastic card with my reg on??? I was originally convinced by Citroen that I had to use citroen to uphold the warranty, not true! As long as u used a VAT registered garage and approved parts the warranty is fine! My local garage charge £60 for service 1,3,5 etc and £130 for number 2,4,6 etc........ Go independent!!

Rang around my local dealerships, but I'm sure I always ended up at the same call centre who kept quoting me £276, and once again claiming the £195 service is for cars outside of their warranty.

I asked them if they could pricematch www.servicingstop.co.uk (£199) and they agreed, happy days

not bad, glad you got them down!

Is strange - dealer local to me at work in wokingham had no problems doing my 62 plate for the fixed price £195 + fixed price brake fluid change.
