Been on the rolling road with this fault dont get any warning lights the fault code is knock sensors.
My dealer has still got my car which showed the same fault as yours .....................but the diagnostic said coil pack failure on 234 but he ignored it and said it was bollocks and then started fault finding old school .....................after a bit the diag said the car was cured but the mech said no still has a misfire

The chase is still on .............nice to have a techie that seems to care

Just to chip in with latest developments on my DS3 DSport.

I collected the car from the dealers a week last Monday morning. Timing chain, tensioner and pulley replaced.

Was noticeable how easy the car revved and how responsive it was even when stone cold and low down the rev range. I hadnt really noticed the "hesitation" low down the rev range even when "normal" performance was available. So add that to the list of symptoms.

However, on driving away from the garage, the first time I came to a halt, the car again started to judder on idle, revs dipping for few seconds, before returning to normal. This was an issue I've been aware of for some months gradually worsening. Every morning since, when cold, at certain times when idling, it just gets rough, you feel the unbalance in the engine as the whole car juddered for a short time.

So took it back in again Monday just gone. Picked it up today. Engine coolant temperature sensor was apparently faulty and returning incorrect readings and has been replaced. Will monitor for next issue!

            • I have also just had power loss on mine (10-plate DSport 150 - 19,000 miles) - told it was timing chain and something to do with cam shaft angle/
Parts arriving tomorrow - luckily all covered by warranty says the dealer (Milton Keynes).
There was a dealer information notice to watch out for this problem on this model.
Judging by this thread - looks like it won't necessarily be the fix needed! We'll see...

Sounds like they may be replacing the VVT unit as well as the timing chain & tensioner, like they did on mine.

Would be interesting to know, as I believe mine's the only one (on here at least) to have had the VVT unit replaced.

Will do - dealership did say that it could be too dangerous to drive home, so best to keep it in til repairs complete. They've been good so far.

I haven't got much choice as to dealership - northampton has closed their franchise - but were rubbish!
So it's a long drive wherever I decide to go...

                        • Got my car back today from dealers....Powerloss,hesitation,Anti pollution warning light was all down to a blocked filter which connects to the turbo piping....Seems to be running sweet.

                          • Just thougt is chip in with latest!

Car used once or twice max since returning from dealer with replaced coolant temperature sensor. Drove a 25 mile trip including motorway. Seemed fine.

Yesterday morning, very cold, started it up. Seemed ok. Waiting 3-5 mins for gf to come out by which time engine warning light had come on and started flashing "anti pollution system failure" message followed by vvery rough idling, loss of power, etc. Warning light became constant after few seconds.

Had to shift down to second to climb a gradient on motorway - circa 30 mph. Couldn't get any more out of it. When home cooling fan working overtime.

Seriously considering contacting Citroen UK suggesting car not fit for purpose. Occasionally my mid 60s mother uses it to do some shopping. She'd have had a heart attack if this had happened on her watch panicking.

Complete loss of love with the DS3 now.

                            Another dealer visit.

                            • You guys with repeated issues should all start rejecting it, that way with a mass of people rejecting it should prompt them into doing something about it.

However, I sent rejection letters by special delivery over a week ago, they were signed for by Citroen UK, Citroen Finance and the supplying dealer on Friday the 20th Jan. Not a single reply by phone call, email or letter from any of them since they received them.

It's about time they officially replaced the first letter of the name from C to SH.
