Drove car to dealer at lunch. Started ok. Lumpy. Rough. Performance wise it seemed normal but warning light and message still on display. Left it with them. Told them my grievances. Dealer polite and appears friendly and helpful. I spoke with the technician who worked on car previously so he has the issues first hand.

See what happens next.
Sounds just like mine before they changed the Fuel pump...............when first starting the car it misfires and runs lumpy because of low fuel pressure but if you gently feather the throttle the ecu self learns and then runs smoother with lower pressure .On full chat the car seemed fine but warning still on sat nav screen and cel light on .
I was lucky the techie knew his stuff and ignored what the pooter said to him (change all 4 coil packs )...........FFS lol
Cheers for that. I'll take a wonder down to the garage Tues/Weds and see if I can find out what fault codes have been thrown up and what their intended course of action is.
Citroen had my DS3 for coming on two weeks now. I wondered down last Weds/Thurs to speak to their tech guy. Although fault codes store and warning light still illuminated the car was behaving itself! The fault codes apparently were unhelpful misfiring reports. It was noted, however, that the engine was "particularly cold" when the misfiring occurred and I reminded him the idling issue itself was only ever noticeable when the engine was cold.
Anyway, without the car repeating the lack of performance issue there was reportedly no real inkling as to what tack to take so I agreed they could keep the car and keep testing it in the mornings.
I was telephoned on Friday and told that whilst the performance issue had not recurred the tech guy had spotted the idling issue when out on test one morning and having connected the car up and sent the data to Citroen it was suggested the fuel pump be replaced, something I'd suggested to them following reports above! Apparently it's been fine since but left car with them for extensive testing. Don't really want it back if it's gonna fuck up again. Suspect I'll be "summoned" to collect it tomorrow!
good old CUK bit like fishing in the dark .............my car always ticked over like a sack of spuds before any work was done ...........booked in for service early at 16K coz of a crap tickover they did the service but the tickover was poor so changed the plugs which cured it then the timing chain failed then the fuel pump ................................Phew....
DS3 picked up this evening. Managed a chat with their technician too who comes across as a friendly and knowledgeable guy.
Thankfully, he was able to "induce" the fault by starting the car from cold, letting it idle a minute or two, then revving it a couple of times. The car would then idle really poorly and there would be next to no performance. Apparently the bloke had trouble driving it 50 yards into the service bay to connect it up to the diagnostics computer.
Car didn't kick up any faults!!! But he downloaded the data, sent it to Citroen who asked him to start the car again and record further readings straight from start up the next day. On seeing the data, the higher pressure fuel pump, normally running between 45-50 bar, was actually only running at 8 bar! (The DS3 contains a low pressure 5 bar pump in the fuel tank itself and a high pressure fuel pump 45-50 bar up front). High pressure pump replaced. Reportedly drives fine now. Drove it 25 miles home tonight and seems ok other than the icy conditions and my heavy right foot resulted in lots of ESP!
