  • Steering wheel wear

Hi, id like to ask if anybody has the same issue of steering wheel wear. The fake leather is quite flaked down. Its quite weird because its only 3 years old and 36000 km. I have it for one year. I hope its a material defect and not the miles clocked down.

It is real leather not fake, at least on the higher models.

I'm glad you said that cyclone as I put the AG leather balm on mine when I treat the seats twice a year - thought I'd been wasting my time

The steering wheel on my previous DS3 was fine for 23995 miles. My current DS3 has 4700 miles and no issues either.

One thing I did notice on my previous one is that the leather is quite easy to mark, it had a couple of very minor scratches on it from my metal watch strap, as soon as I noticed I stopped wearing my watch when driving. My current DS3 has no marks and I hope to keep it that way.

I thought it was the handcuffs that caused the marks on your wheel ?

Sorry to say but have seen this before and the cause....

                  ... over sweaty hands.

Best advice is to make sure that the leather is treated every couple of months to help protect it.
