Also think I might be going insane or having an idiot moment, can't find the fuel filter anywhere!
Found a part number online, found the workshop fitting time 0.20hr but cannot find the filter. Is it accessed from under the seat or something, but surely that takes more than 12 mins to do????

No it's not there... I asked for one at the dealers they said it doesn't have one! I can't believe that for one minute.

Nope, sure has got one... otherwise the manual is wrong.

See item #5 in the diagram here:
            https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6X...ew?usp=sharing

Looks like it's right up next to the rear canister, might be a quick job... but only if you have a hoist. No way you're getting to this by taking the rear seat out

Thanks for that, I'll take another look, found the charcoal canister but didn't see any filter round there.

it should be a lifetime fuel filter fitted in the tank, i know the DS3-R's don't have an external one.

most PSA cars from 2003 onwards had the same design unless you want to fit a universal one into the fuel line yourself and change it as and when.

Needing an HPFP and a fuel filter, am guessing that you have a fuelling problem James?
All that supermarket fuel you know...

Yes, fuel pressure was going wild on idle occasionally, it should sit at 50bar but sometimes it dropped to 0-6bar and then spike to 120bar and back down to 12bar, meanwhile idle would go lumpy as hell. I could induce this fuel pressure drop by snap blipping the throttle slightly just for a split second,
Every time pressure would go off on one of its fits.
Fitted the R56 pump tonight and she's cured, settles down perfectly now. Took around 45 mins including a coffee at the half way point
Thought as much with the fuel filter being incorporated in the sender unit/LPFP.

Least it seems you've sorted it. Nice one

Mine has never run as smooth as silk since Ive had it
Just a very small tremor on idle that must last a gnats, every couple minutes or so

You can't find a fuel filter because your country (UK) is not classed as a "dusty" environment, whereas the pic above (which I took and is of my 207 GTi ) is from Australia.

It's fitted to Australian-delivered cars as Peugeot (and Citroën) class Australia as a "dusty" environment.
                        Regards,

                          That raises an interesting question.
Has any THP engine with the fuel filter present, suffered from failed/blocked injectors or a failed HPFP?

Reason I ask the question is, these HPFPs and their injectors operate on very tight tolerances... I can't understand why they don't fit the fuel filters to ALL of them. Doesn't take much to block one of our injectors, nor would it take much for some debris to find its way into the HPFP, and impair its function.

The fuel filter is part of the intank fuel pump, the HPFP does not fail due to particle contamination, the HPFP develops an internal hairline fracture in the piston valley, the fuel injectors are a multi hole with a directional spray pattern, and the culprit for the common cause of fuel injector blockages of some of the holes is the sticky gummy carbon deposit, which collects on the nozzle during reversion.

Here is one of my Motirsport fuel injectors for the THP showing the multi hole nozzle.

Changed to new HPFP few days ago and it is very smooth now on idle and no misfire codes anymore. But I still have as you said "very small tremor on idle that must last a gnats, every couple minutes or so"...
Did you find what was the culprit or we will have to settle to it as the best and smoothest possible idle?

I have recently cleaned intake valves, all filters&oils, spark plugs...in last 2 days deleted the rear PCV with Citroen dealer plugs and installed the new HPFP. The car has 64k km.

Also after consulting numerous local "specialists" what was the solution to the lumpy idle and misfire codes that I received (P1337,P1340,P0171, P0087) and car getting into limp mode,
I have listened to experienced Jamies advice/opinion on this forum and have changed to new HPFP and he was correct 100%! Jamie I would like to thank you for sharing your knowledge with other members and helping me out
                                with my problem.
