  • DS3 THP whistling and boost leak...

Soo here I have a Citroen DS3 THP with an induction kit of Forge, a GFB DV+ valve and a recent remapping.

After the remap the turbo should boost the air to 1.3 bar but it only pressurizes it to 0.9-1.0/1.1 bar and the 1.1 is when I press violently the gas pedal.

The last two days I screwed the hoses of the turbo and checked them also for possible leaks but nothing, or at least something obvious. My DV is also the one with the GFB adapter and I heard that it's working well.

So from where does this whistle is coming and I lose pressure?

    The car has 42000 km.

Maybe it could be a crack or some damage from a stone or something on the intercooler.
Can u see any deformation on it?

The intercooler seems to be working fine wihout any obvious deformation. Hoses on it are also functioning well.

      Any more ideas??

At my work we have a smoke-machine with which we smoke the system for leaks, maybe there is someone near you whit a similar equipment?

Have you have checked all the connections from turbo back to the inlet manifold including the hard to reach ones behind the engine and the rear pvc line + both connections on it? Double checked the installation of the GFB DV valve?

A split rubber diaphragm on your diverter valve will be costing you 200-300mbar loss of pressure, and it will still sound like its operating correctly. A smoke test will not show this up as the leak would be internal. Worthing taking it off and checking this.

Even the GFB valve has the rubber diaphragm??

No but deff worth taking apart and checking the valve parts to make sure it is right, Maybe even putting the stock guts back in to see if that cures the problem.

Whistling on mine ended up being the air intake filter not sealed properly
Only happened at certain (Higher) rev ranges

I had perfromance filter put in the standard air filter box, and the box wasnt screwed down properly
Check all the seals round the Cone filter

Have you been doing any work in the engine bay recently?

Mm I will check it soon.

Yes I modded the GFB DV in order to check for any problems.

So the GFB is ok installed.
Also the induction is well modded. Now I guess I should check the hoses again.

Any other smaller hoses which could be responsible for the leak??

Is the loss of boost, and the whistle still there?
If it is then its just keep searching, maybe change out the pipes
