  • Help!!! my DS3 keeps flooding with water in passgenger foot well

I have a Citroen DS3 limited edition, 2011 which I have had for around 19 months, a few months after I got the car I discovered the passenger foot well full of water, I had just had the car cleaned inside and out the evening before so I just though they had spilt water in the car while cleaning....

A few months later it happened again, this time I had not had the car cleaned and it had been raining the night before, it was then clear water was leaking in, I contacted the Citroen dealer where I got the car from due to it still being in warranty and informed them of the problem. they said that the drain holes will be blocked by leaves and that does not cover under warranty so there would be a charge.

I live around 50 mins away from the dealer so its not that easy to take the car to them, so I contacted a local garage for it to be repaired while waiting to take the car to the local garage it flooded for the 3rd time at the passenger foot well. I had the repair done.

In December 2014 I was flooded again. I contacted the dealer and agreed to take the car to them and pay their fee, I don't think I should be paying as I have had his problem since I bough the car.

on the 19/12/14 I had the drain holes unblocked again and paid the £42 bill. on the 27/12/14, I was flooded again 7 days after the last un blocking of he leaves. I contacted the dealers again who said they would be a charge, I explained that they had just un blocked the drain hole 7 days ago and now im flooded again, the dealers says they could be blocked again.

I have been flooded 5 times now, and I don't just mean a bit of water I have puddles, the carpet now smells fusty, and the water is getting closer to the electrics under the passenger seat. I have complained to Citroen but due to Christmas I have to wait until they open again the 2nd January, in the meantime, I will continue to get flooded. I think its a manufacture fault. I paid £15k for this car, I didn't expect this problem. I love the car but I am at my wits end with the flooding!,, any ideas what this could be? or is anyone else having this problem

If actually because of blocked drains then not a manufacture defect. Thing is I find it hard to believe the drain holes becoming closed in that short of time after they were cleaned. They are fairly large, an inch or so, in diameter. Have a look down in the screened area at the base of the windscreen with a torch to check if they are clogged. Down in the back corners is where the drains are. Do you park in an area with an extreme amount of leaves or other debris falling? Might want to investigate other causes like Xander in the other thread recently had. Or a door seal or faulty windscreen seal could also cause it.

Mine has also developed a leak but mines boot area only noticed the other day after washing it had rear seats folded down and boot space empty with no parcel shelf in . After I gad finished washing car I noticed the read boot mat was soaked with water mine is actually leaking all across the top of the window seal I got inside boot and got someone to poor water across the boot lid so has cyclone says it could also be the front window seal

I have had drain holes and scuttle pipes I think they are called unblocked twice, last time was just before Christmas by a Citroen dealer, 7 days later I was flooded again! The dealer couldn't care less neither could Citroen... Citroen are fully aware this problem happens and have created an bulletin advising dealers what to do... This to me is a fault With the model...
Luckily I still owe £2k on the finance of the car so the finance company are now involved, they are paying for someone independent to look in to this and inspect the car.

I don't live in an area where there are lots of trees, The dealer has tried to convince me that the drainholes could get blocked within one week, I have been driving over 20 years and never been without a car and never faced this problem.

Very disappointed in Citreon will have to think twice if I buy another, I love the DS3 but not the problems that come with it

What is getting down there and blocking the drains?
