  • Fuel Gauge / mileage remaining indicator

    Hi all

My beloved DS3 has suddenly started refusing to recognise that it has fuel...the gauge is permanently showing no bars, the mileage remaining indicator is displaying '-----' and I get the 'Fuel level is too low' message when I start up.

    Anyone had this issue?

    Thanks!
    Pete

Never had it but can think of a scenario where it would happen that is running the car to very low on fuel at which point it is normal to show ------ then only filling up a small amount of fuel. It takes a certain amount do not remember how much over 5 liters? for the car to recognize that it has been refueled. It is also all ways worth a shot to disconnect the car battery wait a while the reconnect when having electrical problems. With all the computers in modern cars this will sometime fix things.

Thanks cyclone, gave that a try as you advised..no joy unfortunately...I've read elsewhere that perhaps filling it up to first click might sort it...will try this and report back

We use "Autologic:s" instrument, and with this u can make a "forced resetting" of the fuel meter when u have filled the tank upp properly, mabe a solution?

So a refill to first click on garage pump has improved things slightly...when the tank is full the gauge now reads just over a quarter full...and the mileage remaining is at least no longer showing '------'....the search continues...
