  • DS3 CanBus electics or not?

There has been some discussion amongst some members about the need to get CanBus compatible LED's etc when upgrading lighting.
As I understand the CanBus system its' supposed to monitor bulbs against failure and warn the driver of a failure.

From what I've seen tho experiment is that it either doesn't work or just doesn't exist.

Can anyone confirm or deny the existence of CanBus monitoring on the DS3?

    I Can Confirm It John,

When I Had The Lexia Tool Plugged Into Mine It Warned That My Boot Light Only Had A Couple More Days Left To Live...

    The Lexia Was Right... :L

Very strange, mine wasn't bothered by having sidelight, dip beam or main beam disconnected, neither was it worried when interior lights were removed.

I do not think it actually displays an Error, but just lowers/stops the current to the faulty bulb but i could be wrong.

Canbus is IMO a monitoring tool, BMW/Mercs/Audi do display the faulty bulbs on the Dash but whether the DS3 does that i have no idea.

I tried using normal LED bulbs with no resistors and they flash due to not enough power being sucked up, when i bought the canbus LEDs it works faultlessly.

I was messing with the reversing light wires to get a feed to my aftermarket parking sensor and stuck my multimeter probe into the socket where I'd removed the bulb from, with the reversing light on of course! I couldn't get a steady reading at all so something was going on ( in fact it sounds like the fluctuating voltage/flashing that SiM22 refers to).

Also the CAN Bus twisted wires referred to in this link http://www.bridgwater-electronics.co...CAN+Bus%3F.php can be seen when you rummage around behind the trim behind the rear light clusters

It is very expensive kit, and if you really trust someone you do not know to provide you an Oficial Citroen software which is 100% working well good on you, but somehow i do not

You are better off finding a bent official citroen mechanic with access to Lexia
