  • Carpet wear

Not sure if this is really technical, so please move if necessary.

Has anyone worn a hole in the carpet on the foot rest next to the clutch? Wondering how I can make it look less obvious!
    Flocking it perhaps?

That is a common place for a hole Sash. Know some just used a black marker to make it less noticeable.

Haha glad it's not just me! I'm sure it's not from my shoes as I wear narrow pumas but some of my students wear Vans and the likes...

I had a big hole there, about 3 inch diameter, after 65k miles, (driving school) 18 months old. Eventually got it repaired under warranty (good will gesture) took a long time to get them to do it, kept saying no. By chance I mentioned it on face book and Citroen in France replied to me. Said hope I get it replaced, I think they pulled rank.
On my new one, I've taped up the area with gaffer tape, it's working fine.

Good idea, might do that on the new one! Bit late to get them to do it under warranty it goes back next week... Mines 2 years old and on 48k.

Mine has a huge hole there and has from I got it - about 3 inches aswell, its only a year old. Would Citroen replace this under warranty?

No as it is classified as wear and tear, if you have a habit of wearing wide sneakers when driving or tucking you foot behind the clutch (bad habit!) then I would suggest sticking a piece of tape to prevent wearing. The carpet is very thin for reduced weight and where it stretchs around the clutch rest it is extra thin so doesn't survive well.

Seriously? I've size 3 feet, its definitely not from me. I have a really good relationship with my dealer, I'm going to ask anyway. All they can say is no :-)

I have the same problem,I have an aluminium foot rest waiting to go on so before I do will fabricate either an aluminium or plastic cover to fit under the foot rest & down the vertical part to cover the hole

I had a small hole in the carpet in my previous DS3. I've not checked my new one but I did put the Citroen aluminium footrest in as soon as I picked it up so hopefully it will have prevented some of the wear, I'll have a check when I get home.

I think Markymark has the right idea though, something to cover the vertical part would be ideal.

glad it's not just me then!

They better not try to charge me for this when it goes back in September!

Needs to be something smooth so that foot slides on it when it rubs it

Small patch of carpet cut to the right shape and size with some velcro on the back to stick to the existing carpet maybe?
