  • Strange gear box problem

Over the last week I noticed that the gear stick was kicking in 5 th gear under load. so I booked it in to parks for repair. Over the week it got worse, it stared jumping in to neutral when I took my foot off the gas in 5th. It then got strange, when I put in 5th the gear stick immediately returns its self to neutral but as long as I stayed on the gas the gear still stayed engaged until I released the gas, then finally I checked underneath the car, the near side is covered in gear box oil..so the car has been dropped off at parks to be assessed on Monday..
I also had another problem this week, the paint under my drivers door mirror has started peeling off, my friend has the identical car and his done the same thing..
So that's me off work for who knows how long..
Has anyone else had similar issues?
Or is it just my bad luck..hehe.
Ps. Still love my car though, thinking of getting my third one..

Have similar issues with the paint. Mine had peeled under the wing mirror on the drivers door too. It's also bubbled and there's a chip in my paint around the size of a 1p coin due to it bubbling

Seems to be a fault Euan, my friend had his repaired under warranty.

I'd deffo get it looked at for repair under warranty Euan

As for the original issue on the gearbox I've not seen this before, be interested to hear what they find when it's inspected. Hopefully they'll get it back to you asap as it's your livelihood.

Spoke to the service dept this morning, turns out the gear box housing is cracked, they are now stripping to assess what's damaged inside the box
