2012 eHDI 110 Airdream D Sport mpg concerns

Hi all,
I have owned my DS3 eHDI 110 for about 8 months its done approx 16,000 miles and is out of warranty in May (yikes) and have been reading through the posts on MPG just out of interest. I am now slightly concerned with my figures my daily drive is approx 11 miles, 8 miles motorway 70+ mph (Naughty i know) and approx 3 miles stop start driving and same again on way home. My computer average says 44 mpg and has never dropped lower nor has it ever really been any higher than 45-46 mpg and i have never achieved 400 miles from a full fillup, i normally fill up when range reads 50 miles left or when i get down to one segment left on the fuel gauge. The car drives perfectly well, plenty of acceleration and boost from turbo still pushes you back in the seat. I'm not the most sedate driver but i wouldn't say i push the car hard never change gear above 3000 rpm as i don't feel the need as the power is adequate, so the question is...... What is the popular consensus is it low or about right?
If there is a possible issue i'd like to get it in before May when the warranty runs out!!

That seems low to me for a diesel but it completely depends on how you drive.

I'd reset one of the trip meters and then drive like a granny and see how high you can get it. If it's still quite low then get it looked at.

For comparison, I have the petrol THP 155 and regularly get 40mpg+ on a motorway run and below 30mpg if I'm driving enthusiastically.

How're you calculating your MPG? Using the cars display? If so, you might want to look at using a more efficient calculator to work out your consumption, such as: http://www.fuelly.com

The most I've seen a diesel DSport was in the 70's but that was on a very eco-friendly drive; cruising at 60 on the motorway and using the gear indicator when driving through town.

On average we normally see 40/50MPG.

Never dropped less than 54 seems v low forgot to mention similar daily drive.

I had a thread recently regarding a drop in my DSport 110 Diesel's mpg, among others things.
A faulty DPF pipe appears to have been the problem, I only spotted this because there was suit on the rear side of the intercooler; as if it had been shot at by a jet of exhaust.
Might be worth a look.
Normally average 55mpg combined with highs of 80-ish if purely motorway, 60-ish with a heavy foot.

I can get 600miles from a tank when I drive to Liverpool and back (mostly motorway driving) and normal driving sees 530-550 miles but thats a combo of dual carriageways and country road driving.

With youir daily mileage I'm surprised that a diesel is the best option really - I do a lot of miles a year and still worry that the DPF is not getting cleaned properly

I do a journey almost identical with my HDI Dsport and I get around 55mpg with some spirited driving on the motorway. I should be nearing 450miles for a tank but I know that could be better if I didn't have to take that drive. Not enough time for the engine to get settled in before hitting the motorway.

I've read all the posts above and i'm guessing i may have a problem of some sort as the warranty runs out in mid May would you all suggest a trip to Citroen for a diagnostic or would that be a waste of time and money any suggestions would be welcomed as if there is an issue and its covered via the warranty i'd like to get it sorted before it runs out, obviously, cheers guys.

I'd suggest getting it in while it's in warranty. What they will probably do is a test drive and set speeds and record the mpg read out off the screen in the car.
If it's "normal" then they will hand it back.
I would suggest looking in the engine bay for an exhaust leak, possibly DPF area, doesn't throw any faults and quite subtle, but makes a difference

I regularly get 60mpg+. My commute is almost entirely motorway (50 miles each way) driving at 70. I tend to get between 600 and 700 miles out of a tank around this time of year. So 45 and under seems low. But it does depend how you drive it.

Hi - just joined

We have a DSport+115
We were averaging 53, but I did a while without going on the Motorway and it dropped to 48/49.
On a Motorway run it will steadily get up to about 60 average

I think 44 is too low.
