I believe it is possible with the standard configuration to switch the DLR's off, I would hope that if the DLR's are altered via the Lexia III tool that this option would still be available should it be required, maybe someone with more experience of this can confirm or deny it.

How do you do this John? There is surely no switch?

I think you are OK with them on at night with your side / dipped headlights. I believe that they must go out if you switch to high beam. Will have a browse on the DVLA website and see if I can dig up anything relevant.

It is unlikely that you will find anything on the DVLA site but the Regulations (ECE 48 Rev 6) says

6.19.7.1. The daytime running lamps shall be switched ON automatically when the device which starts and/or stops the engine is in a position which makes it possible for the engine to operate. However, daytime running lamps may remain OFF while the automatic transmission control is in the park or neutral position, while the parking brake is applied or after the propulsion system is activated but the vehicle was not set in motion for the first time.

The daytime running lamps shall switch OFF automatically when the front fog lamps or headlamps are switched ON, except when the latter are used to give intermittent luminous warnings at short intervals.Oh

Furthermore, the lamps referred to in paragraphOh5.11. are not switched ON when the daytime running lamps are switched ON.

The lamp in 5.11 are your side lamps, so the bottom line is that your DRL's should go OFF when any other lights are switched on.
