  • Amber engine management light and loss of power??

Knock it off and re-start and it runs fine, light stays on for a day or two then goes off. Has happened 3 times now! Any ideas?

Happened to mine, had it checked and it was fuel pressure outside the limits. Probably wasn't carbonisation as id recently had it walnut blasted and faulty fuel pumps have been mentioned on here.

It could be any one of many faults. The only way to find out is a diagnostic check.

Yes, you really need to to have the car's computer checked for fault codes to see what is going on.

Take it in to dealer Emma, even if you have to pay a fee for them checking
It could develop into something worse that wouldcost a lot more to repair

Or get torque-pro app on an android phone, buy an OBDII connector from ebay, and check the codes yourself
Not as hard as it sounds actually :-)

I checked the codes earlier on today and it said "fuel rail/system pressure too low"

It was the coil sticks! £225 later and she's all fixed

Thats what my code said under the same circumstances, just happened the once and hasn't happened again, I'd have thought it would have been the fuel pump which ive heard can be problematic.
