  • THP timing and boost

    Hi to everyone,

As an owner of a 2011 DS3 THP, I have a catback Mongoose 63,5 mm exhaust, a Forge induction kit and a fresh new program which is promising me 1,3 bars of boost.
I forgot to mention that my BOV is the updated S3 with the GFB DV+ adapter.
Although I see 0,9 with maximum 1,0-1,1 bar and the 1,1 is instantly.
I have to say that I am afraid that my car is near losing its timing but I don't know if the decrease in the boost is due to the potential loss of timing or they are different and I have to check something else in the program??

Did you ever get your old problem figured out. Back in Jan you said that you were only getting 1.1ish when the tuner had said he had raised it to 1.3. Is this new or you still fighting that problem.

I had this issue when the turbo wastegate spring was too loose. It had to be tightened to be able to maintain higher boosts.

        Thanks for all the answers!
May I ask you Ragnarok, where is the THP's wastegate spring actuator??

Also does anyone know which is the factory boost for a DS3 THP156??

It's on the frontside / facing bumper under the turbo heatshield. You need a wrench and socket to loosen the locking screw, then move the bol that controls the stiffing arm, then tighten it back when you are happy. Only a few rounds was required, you don't want to close the wastegate completely
