What sort of RPM range are you in when setting off from second?

Do the revs feel too high in first?

My hdi 90 suffered with terrible lag in identical situations, just dip the clutch rev the nuts off it and lift the clutch back up.

Sounds like too high a gear doesn't it, difficult to judge without knowing your speed approaching the junction. As above if you can try the same in 1st see if that solves the issue

Failing that you can consider a remap at Jamie's (SP Tuning) - that will transform your DS3

Not your driving, no. Normal for the hdi 90 as far as I can tell.

Just get the revs back up you should find that helps.
