I'd be doing the same as you, politely standing my ground and just keep insisting that you want the key that came with the car not too of the cheaper alternatives.

    Good luck

          UPDATE UPDATE

ok so as at 1pm today Motorpoint had refused point blank to pay for the correct key. I asked them to put it in writing and also why they will not resolve etc. A couple of hours later I received the following email from them

"Since our conversation regards your main key for your ds3,I have spoken to the general manager at Peterborough Christopher Goodison. Our policy at motorpoint is to supply 2 keys for your vehicle which we have done. I understand that the key we have given you is not the original fob that matches your ds3,i know that you are not happy with this. We as a company would like to rectify this. As a goodwill if you went to the main dealer to obtain the correct fob to match your vehicle we would pay towards half of the cost.

          Kind regards
          Nathan Coy
          Customer Service Manager

          I replied with this email:-

          "Hello Nathan,

          thank you for your email.

Yes you originally supplied 2 keys, a manual key and the ds3 key. As the ds3 key was broken it was agreed by Miriam the sales lady, that it would be mended prior to collection and payment. At the time of collection it had not been mended. This issue was raised and the manager agreed that the original ds3 key would be mended by the AA therefore this was part of the contract of sale.

3 weeks later the AA came and the man stated he had not been instructed to mend the original ds3 key he was instructed to give me a generic citroen key not a ds3 key. I told him that was not correct and he informed me that a ds3 key is a 'special order' from citroen. However he agreed to look at the original broken ds3 key and stated it could not be fixed.I then contacted Motorpoint customer care and this is where we are now.

In conclusion I do not see why I should have to contribute anything towards the cost of replacing the original broken ds3 key which should have been mended prior to collection as agreed. Had I been told prior to collection that the key was not able to be mended and that you would not be replacing it with a like for like ds3 key, at that point I would have been in a position to decide whether to continue with the purchase of the vehicle or not.

I request the correct colour coded ds3 key to be supplied by you as agreed.

I look forward to hearing from you.

          So fingers crossed.

The key on my DS3 went wrong, the key part wouldn't flick out, I went to my local Citroen dealer and ordered a new one, the new one arrived with the key part already cut for my car and all I did was change the internal parts and the coloured/ chrome part over, now it's A1 again, plus I have the new style keyfob. How much did that cost? (PM me if you'd rather not say in public!)

                    UPDATE

Well Motorpoint have agreed to pay 50% of the cost of the new key which means I still have to pay around £83 which im not prepared to do. they are saying that they have supplied 2 working keys(manual and new generic citroen key). I stated this is not ok but they are not moving on it.

I will have to put up with the DS key that does not flip out i guess

Did you actually say to them they've not supplied what you've paid for?
