I managed to have a proper look under the car and the exhaust bracket has snapped, I've got it booked in for next week, hopefully will be covered under warranty.

I've just dropped my car off at the garage, and explained it's the rear bracket that has broken, but the guy told me he doesn't think that it's covered under warranty, is he trying it on?

He is going to have a proper look and ring me back later, what should I say/do if he says it's not covered under warranty?

If you're still in warranty it should be covered. If they still refuse then speak to Citroen UK.

Quite a few members have had their exhaust brackets repaired in warranty and a few have had them done out of warranty as a good will gesture.

Thanks, that's reassuring to know, hopefully it will get fixed with no problems.

I've just spoken with the guy at the garage and the bracket will be fixed under warranty.

Also the ball joint on the suspension needs replacing, which is covered under warranty.

But the big problem is that he's saying the front brake discs are scored & lipped and will needs replacing, but that's not covered under warranty. He says the dealer I bought from should of changed these before selling the car.

I have only had the car for 4 months, and it's just about done 1000 miles since I bought it, should this fault be happening so soon?

Brake disks are probably classed as wear and tear so I doubt they'd be done under warranty. I'd speak to the dealer you bought the car from and see if they'll sort them as a good will gesture.

I'm surprised they need changing after only 14k though, mine did 24k on my last DS3 and I definitely test them regularly. It's possible the dealer is just trying to get some money out of you as the other stuff is covered under warranty. If they're not dangerously low, maybe get a second opinion.

He's saying they definately needs replacing as they badly lipped, I'm no expert so don't know if he's trying it on?

He said it could be from being stationery for a long period which would cause rust, which in turn would cause the disc to become lipped.

I'm going to ring the dealer that I bought from and see if they will agree to pay the repair costs!

Just got my car back from the garage, the rear exhaust bracket and ball joint have been replaced.

At first I thought great, it feels and sounds ok, but after a few minutes of driving, I'm getting the clunk noise again!

It's a double clunk noise, and only happens when changing gear / accelerating (it doesn't happen everytime!), it sounds like something is loose, it's also quite a loud noise which is why it's worrying, anybody got any ideas?

The main dealer I bought it from is collecting it on Friday to fix the brake discs, will mention it to them and hopefully they will hear the noise and have more of an idea what it is.

That sounds serious, would this be covered under warranty?

As far as I am aware it is a known issue so I would think so

I've spoken with the Service Manager and described the noise, and he thinks it could be the engine mounts!

The car has only done 1,000 miles since we bought it (14k in total), and it's had the rear exhaust bracket, a ball joint, and brake discs replaced, and possibly problems with the engine mounts.

Also the car was delivered without the puncture repait inflator kit.

This is the 1st Citroen car we have bought, and feel a little disappointed with all these problems, hopefully it will all get fixed as we really like the car looks & drive wise (well when it was running ok).

Has anyone had similar problems, are these common problems with the DS3?

The exhaust bracket is a known problem, the brakes are a wear and tear item so would depend upon the previous owner but would of though garage would have checked them before selling the car onto you, if necessary replacing pads/disks if low.
