Ball Joint and Front Brake Discs need to be replaced after 1000 miles!

I've took my car into the garage this morning to fix a broken exhaust bracket.

I've been advised that the Ball Joint, and Front Brake Discs needs replacing.

I've only had the car for 4 months and only done 1,000 miles (13,000 in total), so wasn't expecting to have problems with the suspension and brakes this early.

Has anyone had similar problems?

It's not that strange, I have the 110 DSport plus, the standard brakes also needed replacing at 13,000 miles.
Not sure about the ball joint, that's a new one...

If the OP is not doing much driving (1,000 miles in 4 months) then the parts do suffer with being left to the elements. See this all the time with low mileage drivers and was one of the main reason for a change in the two year service interval that Citroen had.

As for the Ball joint, did see a C4 suffer with this after 15 months, then we found out that the street he lived down had three sleeping policeman and we got the impression that he would hit them at speed...

If the OP is not doing much driving (1,000 miles in 4 months) then the parts do suffer with being left to the elements. See this all the time with low mileage drivers and was one of the main reason for a change in the two year service interval that Citroen had.

I use the car daily so it isn't really left to the elements, the guy at the garage suggested that the dealer should of replaced them before selling the car (isn't this one of the multi-point checks?)

He said something about if the car had been left stationery for a long period (on the dealers forecourt) that a build up rust could of caused the brake disc to become badly scored/lipped)

The dealer has agreed to replace the brake discs at their cost, but wants to do the work themselves rather than the garage, which is a real pain as it's a 60 mile trip.

I'm very careful over speed bumps, but doesn't help that there are a few on the journey to work and back!

EBC sport grooved and drilled discs with green stuff pads last much longer than standard (my exp with my DS3) and also give a better reponse, well worth the money if your going to change them.

Haha it probably also looks that way with my issues, but I'm a careful driver, the previous owner has a lot to answer for!

35.5k miles and still on original pads/discs all round, and original rear tyres

The dealer has agreed to collect the car from my workplace and return it same day, with all work carried out at their cost.

Just a bit annoying having the rear exhaust bracket, a ball joint, and brake discs replaced after only 1,000 miles!

Exhaust bracket is a pretty common one. Happened to mine (around 34k miles) as well as a few others on here
