Key fob battery replacement

Just cant get the fob open despite reading the manual.

The manual makes it look like you push the little lug down/sideways towards the recess that the retractable bit goes into. Tried that.
Also tried pushing it in. That didnt work either.
Also saw something on youtube using a papercplip but couldn't make that work either.

Any suggestions
The lug looks pretty insubstantial and i don't want to break it

Ok - sorted.
It was difficult to slide the silver part off - very stiff. Needed a blade to prise it off
