I've decided to go to my local indy Citroen specialist. I've asked around locally and I haven't heard anything bad about him (in fact the guy that looks after my hubby's Jag recommended him). So, it's costing me £132 incl. brake fluid change and VAT. The next best quote I got was £145 all incl. but the reports on that indy weren't as favourable.

I've never had a problem with warranty work. All been done at BCC Bolton without any issues and always so it was convenient for me.

As for servicing, I'm taking mine tomorrow for a full service at BCC and they're charging £220. They're doing an injector clean (not sure what process they're using) for £20 too.

Make sure you register your car on MyCitroen to be informed of any recalls outstanding on your car, especially if you plan to only use independents in the future.

Had mine done at the main dealer, full service & MOT, I wanted to ensure all the updates were done correctly. I now pay
£20 a month and it covers servicing and MOT costs every year, bargain and who misses £20 a month to keep you service record main dealer, surely it's gotta be worth it for resale value.

Is that with Citroen themselves? My warranty will be £28 a month (including breakdown) and a service plan would work out at about £14 a month. I don't think the service plan includes MOT though.

Had a service plan on my Astra, had it serviced at the main dealer where I bought it and it made no difference whatsoever when I came to sell it. I traded it to Motorpoint against the DS3 and they didn't even ask where I'd had it serviced before they made me an offer.

My dealer didn't ask about the full Vauxhall service history when I traded it in towards the DS3

It does depend on the dealer, for us as a fully approved agent it is an important matter because it affects the prep costs for us.

My astra was 5 years old and was apparently being sent to auction, maybe that's why they weren't bothered ?

Yes main dealer service plan, won't miss £20 a month so I think it's defo worth doing, at least I won't have the £200 a £300 shock any more.
