Hi just wondering if this is normal or anyone have a clue of fault. My 155 thp is only 3 months old and less than 1500 miles on the clock. I have had two engine issues the first one I mentioned on a previous post where I lost power which turned out to be one of the spark plug connections had popped off. The same issue happened again a month later but cured itself within a mile I of course checked spark plug connections and all were solid. My issue now is the debris that I am assuming is coming from exhaust and somehow spraying onto rear end of car. Has anyone else had this issue? See attached photo. The reasons I think the exhaust is the culprit are that it is more prominent at the exhaust side and the sides of the car are clear so rules out road spray.

Soot from the exhaust. Normal. Did you know that modern direct injection engines produce more particulate matter(soot) than a diesel; it's true.Originally posted by cyclone
It is in the handbook. Satisfied.

With a THP that new, the burn may be a bit uneven, and the exhaust may need bedding in a bit
Give it a while, and maybe give it a good blast down the motorway for 5 minutes, to burn everything up a bit. Longer if you have the nerve with a new motor :-)
Keep an eye on it tho, as the mixture settings may be offsigpicJog on Noddy
