  • Driving in France

    Hi Folks,

anyone got any advise on what to do with the headlights for driving in France. Is there any way of adjusting the headlights or will have have to stick something on the front of the light?

    cheers.

Depends on how much driving in France your planning, only adjustment that would work properly would be a set of l/hand drive light units, other than that, its the stick-ons I guess

It's only for a long weekend. Guess I'll stick with beam deflectors. I know that on some cars you can adjust the headlights themselves to allow for driving abroad.

      cheers

You could just wind the headlights down to their lowest setting to avoid dazzling oncoming traffic.

To clarify that I think that Biggie means with the control wheel on the steering column

Think I'll go with some beam deflectors, Halfords do some that seem to be pretty good.

            cheers everyone.

Hadn't thought about this for the summer... hmm. I hate those stick-on things, they're virtually impossible to take off again or they leave sticky stuff all over the lights!

I think that IF you can find them, hard plastic headlight protectors/converters are the way to go

There is a knack to getting them off and it's really easy, believe me I have to do it every year. The trick is...............before trying to take them off. Put your lights on for a few minutes. This will warm up the adhesive and off they will come, with hopefully only a small amount of adhesive left on. In which case use a sticky bit of the deflector and just quickly dab it on and off to remove unwanted bits. sorted

the best way to drive in france is to use the beam deflectors
because if they stop you for your light you gonna have a ticket en that can be expensive
