Exhaust Bracket (and assorted others)

Hi Guys,

Just back from 3rd year service today.

Had my Bellone alloys replaced also due to corrosion - took them 3 months to get there!

Results of the service indicates that the exhaust bracket has corroded - "Excellent! that's covered by the warranty!" I said confidently, having read the posts here.

Alas, the service manager said, it won't be - citroen will turn around and reject it saying you could've parked it in a puddle for example. (I Laughed. Seriously.)

Anyone who has had this replaced under warranty got any idea where I can get some proof citroen has acknowledged the fault, thus making it covered or do I have to phone CUK?

Also up is front Brakes - Not sure it it's just pads or discs, but they've put down 100% worn on the check (interestingly, the rear last service were measured at 60% worn, but this time they're 50% worn. Started looking for the stirrups at this point tbh)

And to top it off he said "the trouble with forums is it's like Chinese Whispers".

Had my complete Exhaust replaced after front bracket had snapped and rear was really bad my car is a 62 plate

At some point during a service mine had been replaced/repaired/rewelded.

Spoke to another dealer this morning who clarified it for me.

If it's purely corroded, it's not covered by the warranty.

If the bracket/weld has failed, it would be covered by the warranty.

I've asked if I can take it next week for him to look at to see if it is purely corrosion, or if there is evidence of a failure before the corrosion set in.

We'll see!

My exhaust bracket was corroded and covered by warranty - right at the very end. 2010 DS3, replaced in 2013.

By Puddle, do the mean pond/river/canal... I know what an ox bow lake is, so I could consider my self an expert in bodies of water (Yesss, GCSE Geography!) But no puddle I have parked over has meant my exhaust has been IN the water!

Hi All,

Thought I'd give you all an update - dealer is sending off a warranty request to citroen today to see if they will cover it.

He sent across the picture he is sending - it's crazy how badly that part has rusted! looks clearly that the weld has clearly broken off the exhaust so hopeful they will approve it - will see if they will replace the part also as I have no faith it has any strength left.
